Hemis Monastery

Day 1
Arrive Leh by early morning flight and transfer to hotel. Full day at leisure for rest and acclimatization to the high altitude and rarefied air of Ladakh (Leh is located at 11,500 ft / 3500 mtrs).Dinner & overnight at Hotel. Meals- Dinner
Day 2
Full day tour of Alchi-Likir circuit, visiting the 12th century Likir monastery and then the 11thcentury Alchi monastery (famous for its pretty setting and exquisite wall frescoes). After lunch at Alchi, drive back to Leh. Enroute view Sangam (confluence of the Indus & Zanskar Rivers), observe the Magnetic Hill and visit Gurudwara Pathar Sahib. Dinner & Overnight stay at Hotel. Meals-Breakfast & Dinner
Day 3
After early breakfast leave For Pangong Lake, enroute visiting Thiksey Monastery before driving on to cross Chang-la (17,370 ft.). Pangong Lake, located at an altitude of 14,500 ft., is 5-6 kms wide and over 130 kms long. Some two-thirds of the lake lies on the other side of the Indo- China border. Dinner and overnight stay at lake side camp. Meals-Breakfast & Dinner
Day 4
Leave Pangong after breakfast and drive back towards Leh. At the Karu road junction, drive across the Indus and take the road to Hemis, visit the famous 17th centuryHemis Monastery Lunch at restaurant at Hemis (on own cost). And then return to the Karu junction for the drive back to Leh. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. Meals-Breakfast & Dinner
Day 5
After breakfast leave for Nubra Valley, driving across Khardong-la (alt: 18,380 ft – highest motor able pass in the world). After descending from the pass, check into the Camp. Later, you can walk around the valley or go on sightseeing tour around Hunder village. Overnight stay at the camp. Meals-Breakfast & Dinner
Day 6
In the morning, drive to Deskit (headquarters of Nubra) for sightseeing of Deskit, Hundar and the Sand Dunes. Here you can go on short Camel Safaris in the Sand Dunes using the double-humped Bactrian Camels (At own expenses).After early lunch Later, drive back to Leh, via Khardongla, reaching in the late afternoon. Rest of the day free to explore the local markets. Overnight at the hotel. Meals-Breakfast & Dinner
Day 7
After b/f day at leisure. In the late afternoon, visit Shanti Stupa, Leh Palace and Leh Bazaar for orientation. Or you can do River Rafting (At Own cost) Evening at leisure & shopping at Leh Bazar .Dinner & overnight stay at Hotel. Meals-Breakfast & Dinner
Day 8
After early breakfast, transfer to the airport for taking the return flight. Meals-Breakfast

1. Day & Night temperature varies immensely. Pangong is windy & can be cold after sunset therefore packs woolen, windsheater including mufflers, thermals & gloves.

2. Being a high altitude destination you are advised to refrain from consumption of alcohol.
